Jazz (CH Marjani Notaviva) earns Best of Opposite for a four point major over other specials. And Portia (Dynadaux Life is a Highway MS) earns back to back Best of Opposites. She didn't feel too bad - her half brother went Best of Breed.

It was a great weekend for the Marjani basenjis and miniature dachshund. Jazz completed her UKC championship title, Bob and Tommy are close to completing theirs, and Gloria was Group 1 in the scenthound group at each of the 4 shows - Anna and Isaiah took turns showing her to this placement. Anna and Isaiah also showed in Junior Showmanship and did a fabulous job!

Gloria tried her paw today in an Earthdog trial. What is earthdog? It's where a dog runs underground to find the quarry (rats) at the end. Once they find the rats, who are safe in a cage, and behind big dowels to make sure they are extra safe, the dog has to bark, dig, whine, "work" the rats for 30 seconds. For the first time, I went and showed at a UKC conformation event. Gloria went Best of Breed and Group1 (Scenthound) at both shows. And Tommy went Best of Breed and took a Group 1 at one show. Gloria made people laugh when she rolled over in the ring, asking for a belly rub. It was a good day!
