Introducing: UKC CH Marjani Notaviva

It was a great weekend for the Marjani basenjis and miniature dachshund.  Jazz completed her UKC championship title, Bob and Tommy are close to completing theirs, and Gloria was Group 1 in the scenthound group at each of the 4 shows – Anna and Isaiah took turns showing her to this placement.   Anna and Isaiah also showed in Junior Showmanship and did a fabulous job!

Earthdog!

Gloria tried her paw today in an Earthdog trial. What is earthdog? It’s where a dog runs underground to find the quarry (rats) at the end. Once they find the rats, who are safe in a cage, and behind big dowels to make sure they are extra safe, the dog has to bark, dig, whine, “work” the rats for 30 seconds. UKC – for the first time

For the first time, I went and showed at a UKC conformation event. Gloria went Best of Breed and Group1 (Scenthound) at both shows. And Tommy went Best of Breed and took a Group 1 at one show. Gloria made people laugh when she rolled over in the ring, asking for a belly rub. It was a good day!

Marjani Kennel has passed Final Building Inspection

With great joy and relief, the county of Loudoun has given the kennel its final inspection, and it has passed.  Now the real work begins for Rich and I to finish the interior.  The next big step – having Animal Control give it their blessing…
